Documentary Film 'Land of Knowledge' at the Sarajevo Film Festival

The documentary film 'Land of Knowledge',concerning the blockade of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences that took place in April and May 2009, will be screened in the competition programe at the Sarajevo Film Festival.The film produced by Hulahop and directed by Saša Ban documents 35 days of the blockade, when students took the control over the faculty, asking the Government of the Republic of Croatia to abolish all forms of university tuition fees. During the blockade, the students made all the decisions by direct democracy. The Plenum, a body consisting of several hundred students, becomes the protagonist of the documentary. Simultaneously we follow another, media-based reality, inhabited by politically important personalities who make decisions about our present and future. The film LAND OF KNOWLEDGE documents 35 days of faculty blockade, during which the Government ignored the students completely.
