'Family Meals' Awarded in Sarajevo

A documentary project by director Dana Budisavljević, Family Meals, has won both awards at the workshop intended for documentary projects in the post-production stage Docu Rough Cut Boutique, taking place within the 17th Sarajevo Film Festival. The film won the Geneva Cash Award for the best human rights project and CineLink award, granting it the right to participate in the Work in Progress programme, also within the Sarajevo Film Festival.

The Geneva Cash Award, amounting to €1500, is ensured by International Film Festival and Geneva Human Rights Forum (FIFHD). The winning project of the Work in Progress programme gets post-production services amounting to €80000 (courtesy of Berlin Post Republic) and €20000 (courtesy of Slovenian RestArt).

Family Meals is a documentary film depicting a ritual of gathering in director Dana Budisavljević’s charming and somewhat eccentric family and thus openly, but with kindness and humour speaking of the need to be accepted by the loved ones.

In addition to Dana Budisavljević , the workshop was attended by editor Marko Ferković.
