Jakov (16) and his brother Luka (12) have been living alone since their mother ended up in hospital. Assuming his new family responsibility as well as he can, Jakov finds a job with the local amateur videographer Karlo in order to increase their modest home budget. To his astonishment, only at the cemetery Jakov discovers his first assignment is to film the funeral of Tanja's mother - the girl he had been seeing at he hospital. Behind the camera, confused by the attraction and compassion he feels for Tanja, haunted by dreamlike visions of his own mother, Jakov forgets to «broaden the shot» at the crucial moment of the burial service. Karlo's clumsy editing attempt to make up for Jakov's fault, provokes rage and bewilderment of Tanja's family but in the end brings Jakov closer to Tanja, poignantly marking his bittersweet passage to adulthood.
