The extremely acclaimed and awarded animated features Persepolis and Fear(s) of the Dark, distributed by Hulahop, are available from MaxTV's video collection from 1st September.
The animated French omnibus Fear(s) of the Dark presents the greatest human fears and nightmares through the perspective of six renowned cartoonists. New Yorker’s associates Richard McGuire and Lorenzo Mattotti, Belgian Blutch, American Charles Burns and Frenchmen Pierre Di Sciullo and Marie Caillou breathed life into their nightmares and created a story examining human fears in their most intense form.
Animated autobiographic film Persepolis recounts the childhood of the author Marjane Satrapi in Iran following the end of the Islamic Revolution. This touching and funny tale of a little girl growing up in Islamist Iran achieved widespread international success in both Europe and elsewhere. The film won the jury award at film festivals in Cannes and Rotterdam and was also nominated for the Oscar and European Film Award.
The audience thrill with these entries after their screening at the Animafest has motivated the Hulahop team to represent and distribute them in Croatia. Following their cinema screening, they are now available on MaxTV and for purchase in a DVD format in Algoritam and Profil bookstores and Europa cinema in Zagreb.
